| The questionnaire administered in April 2007, indicated that 54.42% of those surveyed in the IUP community indicated that they were not familiar with biometric devices. Further, 65.49% of those surveyed said that they were not aware that they interacted with biometric devices on a daily basis. This was surprising to the researchers, in that the student ID at IUP , the IUP I-card is a smart card. 67.01% of those survey said that they would be willing to use a fingerprint reader on a frequent basis. Overall the results were as the group expected, biometrics not a topic that the general public is very knowledgeable and educated about. |
