Our programming contest will be held in our teaching laboratories in Stright Hall. The rooms are 220, 320. Each. Room is equipped with 30 personal computers running Windows XP with service pack 2 installed. The software installed on these machines includes: Visual Studio.NET (C++), Eclipse 3.1 (Advanced Java environment), Notepad and WordPad ( simple text editors), JDK 1.4 and JDK 1.5.
Friday Evening
Teams will meet immediately after the keynote
speech Friday evening and be taken to Stright Hall for directions on using our
machines and a practice session with two sample problems. This practice session
should last approximately one hour. After the practice session, teams will be
taken to a pizza party.
Saturday Morning
Teams should arrive at Stright Hall by 8:00 AM,
the contest will start promptly at 8:30 AM. We will have refreshments in Stright
Hall room 327 starting at 8:00 AM. Refreshments are not allowed inside the
computer labs. The contest will end at 12:30 PM. Teams will be taken to
lunch. An awards ceremony will take place after lunch. The top teams will be
given a plaque and a prize.
